Lilac Crochet Hat Beanie Adult Size
Everyone say "hi!" to Fey. She's playing with a crochet hat beanie, crafted primarily in lilac. This softy's circumference is 22 inches (60 cm) at its bottom edge, with a height of 8-1/2 inches (22 cm) from the very top to its decorative trim. Depending on the size of your head (and how much hair you have) the edge will lie just above or below your earlobes. It's a beanie that will play nice with active teens and adults, retaining heat without overheating.
This particular crochet hat beanie was handcrafted using lilac cotton yarn and trimmed with a unusual variegated (multi-color) yarn where each ply is a different color - in this case white, sage, lilac and tan. It favors muted, cool-toned Summers but may take a liking to some Winters, too. Its approximately 1/2-inch (1 cm) wide decorative bottom was created by working stitches in reverse.
All my crochet hats are handmade by me. Because cotton isn't as resilient as acrylic or wool you may, one day, find your crochet hat beanie has become tired and isn't hugging your head as snug as before. Giving it a nice bath with, perhaps, some fabric softener will revive it, though truly exhausted crochet beanie may also require a quick tumble.
To care for your crochet hat I suggest you wash it the Delicate cycle (cold water is preferred, but warm can be used to clean a dirtier than usual cloche). No bleach. Then allow it to rest, flat, until dry. A quick tumble in the dryer is fine if you only use the Low setting and dry until it is slightly damp. Too much time in the dryer will result in an uncomfortable beanie!! My crochet hat beanies are happiest washed in a Delicates bag or pillowcase as it helps them from getting lost and aids in keeping them looking like new.
