Kids Crochet Hat Pink Stripes
The kids crochet hat hat Fey is modelling today is a sweet little number that'll quickly become a favorite for little ones who love pink.
With a circumference of around 16 inches (41 cm), and a height of 7 inches (18 cm) from the very top to its decorative trim, my kids crochet hat will lie just above or below the earlobes depending on the size of your child's head and how much hair they have. I've sized it for toddlers but some larger infants may be able to wear it, too.
This particular crochet hat was created using a "self-striping" print cotton yarn. The base yarn color is white, sprayed with medium to dark pink. The result is thick, two-toned stripes of pink intermingling with thinner stripes of white. Please note that printed yarn tends to be a little stiff at first. It's not an uncomfortable stiffness (unless your child is sensitive to textures) but it's not as soft as most cotton yarn I've worked with. A quick wash will remedy that, though.
"Pepperminty" fresh, this crochet hat would love to accompany a young, clear, cool-toned Winter. It will keep their head comfortably warm while playing, from Fall through Spring.
This kids hat, like everything else you see in my shop, was crocheted by me. Because cotton yarn isn't as resilient as acrylic or wool you may, one day, find this beanie has become tired and isn't hugging as snug as before. Giving it a nice bath will revive it, though a truly exhausted hat may also require a quick tumble.
Launder your kids crochet hat using the Delicate cycle (cold water is preferred, but warm can be used to clean a cloche that been playing too hard). No bleach, but fabric softener is ok. Then allow it to rest, flat, until dry. A quick tumble in the dryer is fine if you allow it to play only until it is slightly damp. Too much time in the dryer will result in an uncomfortable hat!! My crochet hats prefer being placed in a Delicates bag or pillowcase as it keeps them from getting lost, as well as aids in keeping them looking like new.
