Crochet Beanie Hat Red and Pink Stripes
I don't know why, but I always think of cherry lip balm whenever I look at this crochet beanie hat. :)
Fey is sitting pretty in this equally pretty beanie, handcrafted from variegated cotton yarn. The base color is white, intermixed with salmon red and an almost violet pink. The result is a soft hat with some really cool zig-zaggy columns on the sides. A wonderful companion for any clear, warm-toned Spring who likes bright colors!
The circumference of this crochet beanie hat is about 21 inches (53.3 cm). Its height measures 9-inches (22.9 cm), from the center of the top round to its reverse stitch edging, which will lie just above or below the earlobe depending on the size of the head and how much hair you have. My crochet beanies are quite popular with the Tweens and Teens but I guess Adults can wear them, too. :)
Each and every crochet beanie hat you see in my shop is handmade by me. Due to the nature of cotton yarn you may find, over time, your hat isn't hugging your head as snuggly as before. Cotton isn't as resilient (it doesn't bounce back as well) as wool or acrylic. A quick wash will remind it of the size and shape it should be, though well-loved hats may also require a quick tumble in the dryer.
To care for your beanie I recommend washing it the Delicate cycle (cold water is preferred to keep the colors bright, but warm can be used occasionally to clean a heavily soiled crochet beanie hat). No bleach, but fabric softener is okay. Dry flat. A quick tumble in the dryer is fine if you only dry it until it's still slightly damp. Over-drying can result in a stiff and scratchy hat! A Delicates bag or pillowcase is recommended as it will keep your hat from getting lost in the wash and aids in keeping it looking like new.
