Purple Chunky Crochet Scarf
Welcome to our latest installment of As Crowe Shea Fashions. LOL! Here to introduce my newest item, a thick and purple chunky crochet scarf, is my equally new model Seth Justbunny. As you can see, he's a little nervous so he's getting some help from seasoned pro, Fey.
Crocheted using a bulky yarn from Italy, my crochet scarf is approximately 56 inches (142cm) long by 5-1/2 inches (14cm) wide, with the ends tapering outward, slightly. The soft, 80% Acrylic, 16% Wool, and 4% Rayon yarn is self-striping, resulting in stripes of purple subtly varying from violet blue to violet red, adorned with flecks of yarn in golden yellow, bright blue, warm red and lime green. It's a tough call, what with all the colors, but I think this warm and squishy crochet scarf would be happiest molding itself around the necks of muted, warm-toned Autumn types.
Due to the nature of the yarn - it's fuzzy and loosely plied - this scarf is not a friend of velcro. It also has a tendency to pill. I've tried to combat some of this by using a smaller, tighter stitch and a simple textured pattern. Personally, I like the pilling. I think it works well with the colored yarn flecks, giving it a "well loved" look, over time, but I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea so I'm giving you a heads up. :)
To care for your crochet scarf, I recommend hand washing it in cold water, and drying flat.
Please be sure to check out my policies before you check out.
