Cotton Crochet Scarf Red Pink and Blue

Arriba!!! Fey is all wrapped up and ready to paint the town, in this brightly colored cotton crochet scarf.

Inspired by Mexican serapes, "Fiesta" was crocheted using brightly-colored cotton yarn scraps to form a striped pattern. This crochet scarf features lots of red and hot pink, with touches of turquoise blue, and bright orange and yellow. Definitely hot and spicy! It is a generous 76 inches long (193 cm), plus 8 inch (20 cm) fringe, by 4-1/4 inches (11 cm) wide. I crafted this particular crochet scarf to be dense enough to keep the wind out but still loose enough to softly mold around your neck. I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as Fey is!

"Fiesta" is a Scrap Happy Scarf, and all of my Scrap Happy Scarves are crocheted, by me. They can consist of leftover yarn, mismatched dye lots, that one remaining skein in the bin (that isn't enough to use for anything else), and, yes, the reclaimings of a project that has gone horribly wrong - or all of the above! ALL YARN IS NEW! Even the reclaimed yarn is technically new as the never finished project was also never worn or used. Just so you know: because of the stitch used in making my Scrap Happys the ends have a tendency to curl. This is normal!

To care for your crochet scarf all you need to do is wash it the Delicate cycle (cold water is preferred, but warm can be used to clean a particularly dirty scarf). No bleach, but fabric softener is allowed. Then dry flat. Tumble drying is okay, but if you dry your scarf on Low and until it is still slightly damp. Over-drying will result in a rough scarf! A delicates bag is recommended to keep it looking new for as long as possible, and to keep the fringe from tangling. Iron when necessary, using the "Cotton" setting.
